I had taken a leave of absence from teaching in October 2018. The work and career that I loved- Teaching & coaching, into which I poured my passion talents and efforts, began to really suck! I quit teaching in Feb 2019 after 30 years. I followed my son Jonathan (Jon) Porter into Pearl Recording Studio in NE Minneapolis in November or December. We laid down scratch tracks for a couple of tunes . It was Jon, Dave Degennaro and I. Music was my sanctuary. The sessions healed us in our grief as Michelle Porter (1966-2017)was in our hearts and minds as we sent these songs into the universe. Steve Degennaro on Lead Guitar rounds out the band except we feature Doug Rohde (Piano, Hammond Organ) and Brian Glascock (Drums) on two tracks each. Zachary Hollander was the Engineer. My first studio album Dandelion Wine by Paul Porter was release in July 2020, during the height of the pandemic, as a cd, vinyl, streaming everywhere. It wouldn't have happened if Jon didn't invite me into Pearl Recording Studio.... Thanks JP!
